  26. 1INTRODUCTION
  27. DRIV-MAN  is  a  disk  utility management tool  that  displays  pertinent 
  28. logical  disk  drive data - up to twenty-six drives - on a SINGLE  SCREEN 
  29. for analysis/storage. 
  30.  
  31. The DRIV-MAN display includes: DRIVE DATA SUMMARY with capacity, used and 
  32. free  for  each available/selected drive,  DRIVE DATA GRAPH with the same 
  33. data for each drive,  TOTAL DISK SUMMARY and GRAPH,  and INDIVIDUAL DRIVE 
  34. DATA displaying information on one drive at a time. 
  35.  
  36. Program options include: Toggle any of six sort orders for the DRIVE DATA 
  37. SUMMARY,  selectable/editable  display  DRIVE RANGE,  disk storage of the 
  38. DISK DRIVE SUMMARY display,  and the ability to run a file manager, FILE-
  39. MAN, from within the program. 
  40.  
  41. Registered users may also change the various display colors, the location 
  42. of the display sections, and various setup parameters.

  44. 2COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
  45. The syntax for DRIV-MAN is:

  56.                Use of the configuration file is limited to registered

  187. and may be scrolled, either by pressing the desired DRIVE LETTER or using 
  188. the cursor arrow keys. Its four portions are detailed below:

  206. 4[F2] EDIT DISK DRIVE RANGE
  207. The  selected  disk  DRIVE  RANGE may be changed and re-displayed without 
  208. exiting  and  re-running  DRIV-MAN.   Especially  useful  in  a   network 
  209. environment, the range can be set for the physical drives of each system. 
  210.  
  211. ->·To  change  the  selected/displayed  DRIVE RANGE,   press  [F2].   The 
  212. currently selected DRIVE RANGE is displayed.  Edit the DRIVE RANGE, using 
  213. the control keys noted on the bottom line,  as it would have been entered 
  214. on the command line.  When editing is complete,  press [ENTER].

  216. ─>·To leave the DRIVE RANGE as it was before editing, press [ESCAPE].

  218. 5[F3] STORE DATA
  219. The DRIV-MAN screen display,  of  the Disk Summary Data, may  be saved to 
  220. allow comparisons with previous or future displays. 
  221.  
  222. Using this feature,  a snapshot may be saved before cleaning up a logical 
  223. drive/drives  and then another  snapshot saved afterward, for comparison. 
  224. Another  use  is  to take Disk Summary snapshots monthly to see  how  the 
  225. system's disk status is changing over time. 
  226.  
  227. ->·To  store the screen display,  press [F3].  The screen display will be 
  228. stored  in  a  file  named "DRIVE-MAN.DAT",   and  a  completion  message 
  229. displayed.  If this file already exists,  on the drive-directory on which 
  230. the program is located,  the current data will be APPENDED to it.  If the 
  231. file  does not exist,  it will be CREATED on the same drive-directory  as 
  232. the program. 
  233.  
  234. 6[F4] SHELLING TO A FILE MANAGER
  235. FILE-MAN,   another shareware program from Micrometric,  is a menu driven 
  236. file manager utility.  It,  or another file manager,  may be run directly 
  237. from  DRIV-MAN  to  copy,   move,  delete files  or  perform  other  file 
  238. maintenance functions.

  240. ->·To  run  FILE-MAN,  first select the desired drive  by  pressing  it's 
  241. letter, and then press [F4].

  243. Registered  users may change the name of the desired file manager by  use 
  244. of the configuration file.

  246. 7CONFIGURATION FILE
  247. The  optional  DRIV-MAN  configuration  file contains all of the  display 
  248. color and position variables.   These  variables are initially set to the 
  249. program  defaults.   They may be edited by use of any  ASCII  editor/word 
  250. processor.

  275. upon system registration.

  277. A  REGISTRATION  INFORMATION data entry window is displayed.  Enter  your 
  278. company  name/your name and then the system's serial number (from  inside 
  279. the front cover of the system's manual)  using the alphanumeric  keys and 
  280. the cursor control keys shown on the bottom help line.

  286. [ENTER].  An informational  message  will be  displayed when the branding
